International LeftHander's Day!


If you're reading this, consider it a triumph in the battle of time against the much powerful physics experiment theory writing. Congratulations!

Now, back to the topic. I think I mentioned it in this year's World Poetry Day post that I'm not big on remembering days and dates, but today morning when I got to know today's date celebrates left-handed people, I knew I had to write about it. 

Yes, I am left-handed. 

And to be honest, I find it to be a really cool thing. However insignificant it may seem, it's still cool.

I don't want to mention facts or list down struggles of being a left handed person because there's plenty of that stuff up on the internet. Instead, I'll share some of my favorite humor for all my left-handed friends out there!

P.S. Some of it might be what people call 'struggles of left handed people,' but I wouldn't exactly call them 'struggles.' More on that later in the post. 

Apparently. Unless you're accustomed to using the mouse right handed (which is a skill I guess we all end up developing)

Oh yep, spiral notebooks conspire against us. Two solutions: turn the book upside down and use that weird (but more convenient) version of it or buy the special left-handed people's spiral notebooks (which are unreasonably expensive)

Till date! (Unless you master it right-handed - which I can't!!!)

Not humor, neither relatable for all lefties, but it's a real thing :( 

Period.

Jokes aside, I'll just recount some instances where being a left handed person has struck me as something which is 'different' - not necessarily in a positive or negative way, but a neutral one. 

1. A lot of times, I'm handed my cup of tea/coffee as you'd do for a right handed person and I don't get to see the cup design. 

2. I can't learn guitar because it's strings are arranged for right-handed people (unless I get it rearranged).

3. Scissors never work :(

But, like I mentioned before, it's not exactly a struggle anymore. You adapt to things the way they are, don't you? You open doors with your right hand and shake people's hand with your non-dominant hand (although I'd always prefer my dominant hand). 

It's still, just different. 

Okay, one last reference;

Nevertheless, as long as we're in our right minds, things are great! (pun intended)

    Ahh....iss great! heh this blog makes me feel i have been unfair to lefties too kind of..but yea my best friend's leftie so ik how that goes..pretty amazing ! keep up the good work :)

On The Annual Whirr Of Excitement

The annual whirr of excitement, as I just quoted it. In simple words, the excitement/fear/anxious feelings among all of us on entering our first board year, grade 10. There’s this whirr of excitement. It’s there every year, it’s there this time too. Although, I must say people are kind of reluctant and nobody was actually excited because as each year passed, the difficulty level, knowingly or unknowingly, shot up. Thoughts On An Airplane

Its night time and I’m on an airplane and when I look down, all I can see are specks of illumination, a sign of life. If I were to exaggerate and speak, there is no square metre of land that is accessible to us and not owned by us.  By us, I mean humans. Individually we may or may not own a lot of land. But if you see it amongst us humans, we have huge portions of it. Like, huge. So large they can house millions, hold cities, metropolises. From above, the land looked so vast.
